Medical Malpractice
Failure to Timely Obtain Treatment for CBOE Trader
Mr. Kelly successfully negotiated a $1.52 million settlement on behalf of the widow and family of 50-year-old trader at the Chicago Board Options Exchange who collapsed at the Exchange and died shortly thereafter from a pulmonary embolism. After he collapsed, multiple phone calls were placed to a medical care provider who was a contracted agent of the Exchange. Our firm discovered that not only was the nurse untimely in her arrival on the scene, but that she violated multiple standards and protocols relating to the care of such a patient.
