Nursing Home Neglect
Failure to Monitor Suicide Risk Patient
Mr. Kelly successfully negotiated a $425,000 settlement on behalf of the family of an elderly woman who committed suicide by jumping out of the window of her nursing home room. The patient, who suffered from known suicidal ideations, was admitted into the 4th floor of the nursing home and put in a room with access to fully opening windows. Our firm further discovered multiple negligent failures on the part of her attending physician and nursing home personnel including a failure to provide appropriate medication and monitoring of the patient.
