Machine Crushes Hands of Man Working in Factory
Mr. Kelly and Mr. Ignoffo secured $2 million dollars on behalf of a young man who had both his hands crushed when he attempted to open the hopper of the grinding machine he was working on. He pulled the hopper toward him on its pivot when it crashed onto his fingers crushing them with resulting amputation of the left middle finger. Our firm alleged that the defendant manufacturer of the machine negligently failed to equip it with a necessary guard to stop the hopper from traveling to the ground and also failed to provide appropriate warnings of the lack of a stop guard.
